Powering Poland’s Future with Offshore Wind

Fathom Group  joins forces in new offshore wind consortium to advance Poland’s renewable energy sector.

Aberdeen, UK – 3 June 2025 – Fathom Group, a leading offshore engineering and digital technology firm, is proud to announce its participation in a newly formed consortium aimed at accelerating the development of offshore wind energy projects in Poland and the broader Baltic Sea region.

The consortium brings together four specialised companies—Fathom Group, Industria, GuD Offshore Wind Polska, and MEWO S.A.—each contributing unique expertise to provide comprehensive support across all phases of offshore wind farm development. This strategic alliance is designed to enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of offshore wind projects, aligning with Poland’s ambitious renewable energy goals.

Fathom Group will contribute both offshore engineering expertise and advanced digital twin technology to the consortium, supporting the design and optimisation of offshore wind structures. Their work will span concept selection, FEED, detailed design, and ongoing structural monitoring. Fathom’s physics-based analytics platform enables real-time insights and predictive maintenance, helping to improve reliability, reduce operational costs, and extend asset lifespan.

Industria will contribute its extensive experience in designing hydrotechnical and offshore infrastructure, utilising cutting-edge technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and 3D scanning to ensure precision and efficiency in project execution.

GuD Offshore Wind Polska brings over 40 years of geotechnical and dynamic analysis expertise, offering critical insights into seabed conditions and foundation design essential for the stability and longevity of offshore structures.

MEWO S.A. complements the consortium with its proficiency in geophysical and geotechnical surveys, as well as underwater infrastructure inspections, ensuring comprehensive site assessments and environmental compliance.

“By uniting our specialised skills and knowledge, we aim to provide end-to-end solutions that address the complex challenges of offshore wind projects,” said Richard McGowan, Managing Director of Fathom Group. “This collaboration represents a significant step towards supporting Poland’s transition to sustainable energy sources.”

The consortium is committed to delivering integrated services that encompass design, engineering, environmental studies, and digital solutions, thereby streamlining project workflows and fostering innovation in the offshore wind sector.
